At the end of the 17th century, the first spa hotel, the Bad Lenk, was built somewhat further downhill from the richest Alpine sulfur springs north of the Alps, the Balmen. Up until the turn of the millennium, sulfur was used as a remedy, and you can still drink it to this day.
