During spring and autumn, hotel and restaurant Anne de Bretagne highlights the cultural and gastronomic heritage of the Nantes region with oenological tastings. These offer the opportunity to meet the women and men behind the bottlings, who retrace their journeys, present their passion with enthusiasm and convey the distinctiveness of the terroir. They will introduce you to exceptional wines, share a few secrets with you and reveal what makes their wine unique.

My speciality? The sea air The sea is my inspiration, and I cook a lot of fish and shellfish. You have to create a cuisine which you like. For us, the restaurant is a whole: the cuisine, the atmosphere, the food and wine pairings... It's a passion we want to share with our guests...

Anne de Bretagne Restaurant

On the sand dunes, facing the charming port of La Gravette, Anne de Bretagne is a contemporary villa, perfectly placed to enjoy the best of Brittany. There are breath-taking views over the ocean from the suites and the Italian-style terraces. In the excellent restaurant, Mathieu Guibert’s cuisine is inventive with a touch of the sea, in perfect harmony with the wines selected by Michèle Vételé, a highly-recognised sommelier. In season, you can try wild clams with shredded leek. Fish and shellfish create a perfect match: “slow-cooked” line-caught sea bass is served with a sardine concassé, a string of winkles and a sea lettuce emulsion.

A coastal walk to fill the senses

Le Pays de Retz is a region innately associated with water. On one side, the ocean and the famous Jade Coast: on the other, the singular landscapes of the Loire estuary, punctuated by rivers and marshes. Enjoy unique views of the river, exploring it on foot, by bike or by canoe. Stop at Saint-Brevin-les-Pins, a seaside resort renowned for its beaches, delightful houses and pine-filled terrain. Then on to Paimboeuf, a picturesque little port nestled in the heart of the estuary. Contemporary art lovers will appreciate an open-air sculpture collection on both sides of the Loire, including Le Jardin étoilé (The Starry Garden) in Paimboeuf or La Maison dans la Loire (The House in the Loire) in Couëron.
