Here you can experience both the air of Lombardy and the spirit of Emilia-Romagna. The town has been recognised by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site on account of its exceptional Renaissance heritage, as has the nearby town of Sabbioneta. Explore the Palazzo Ducale, the elegant Palazzo del Te and Mantegna's house, before heading to the bar Venezia for an early evening aperitif in the shadow of the spectacular Saint Andrew's Basilica.

The power of literature is sometimes so strong that it changes our relationship to a town. The romantic nature of Verona is mainly linked to the romance between Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare's masterpiece of theatre written in 1597. Lovers still come from the four corners of the world to attach a padlock or kiss on the rebuilt balcony of Juliet's house in via Cappello. The remains of the young girl can be found in the convent of San Francesco al Corso.

Cremona is the birthplace of Antonio Giacomo Stradivari, better known as Stradivarius. In his wake, the town has become the capital of luthiers, the birthplace and symbol of the finest violins in the world. Inside their workshops, craftsmen perform the same slow and meticulous movements, upholding a four hundred-year-old tradition of stringed-instrument making. In the evenings, magnificent concerts are held in the theatre.

A few hidden gems still exist in Venice. Located on the narrow alleyway Calle del Fumo (Cannaregio), Gianni Basso's small shop is certainly one of them! Known to his neighbors as “Gutenberg”, Gianni uses antique machines to hand print calling cards and bookmarks amongst antiquarian books and vintage cards. And he'll show you the same enthusiasm, whether you're a customer just passing through or an international star...

Simply make your way out of the Grand Canal to find yourself alone in the heart of the most romantic city of the world. Owned by the Benetton family since 1995, this very fine golf club has two courses (one 18-hole, par-72 course, and one 9-hole, par-36 course). Its fairways hug the landscape, between hills scattered with woods and the vineyards of Valdobbiadene. A few kilometres away, you will find two more beautiful courses at the Ca'Amata Golf Club in Castelfranco (18 holes, par 71) and at the Villa Condulmer Golf Club in Modigliano (18 holes, par 71).
