“An effervescent castle just like a large family house”
Once home to a large family of Provençal humanists, Château de Fonscolombe has preserved its soul. Its salons of Genoa leather and Chinese wallpaper still resonate with their lively character. The park, with paths lined by majestic trees, is the fantastic oeuvre of a lineage of botanists. As for the restaurant l'Orangerie, it too has embraced the chic, rustic and Provençal charm of the estate. Soft and subdued in winter, it takes its summer quarters in the shade of a large bald cypress. Young chef Nadège Serret was brought in to breathe her unique creativity into a traditional bourgeois cuisine, which now finds new flavours in the associations of fresh produce harvested from the vegetable garden.
