Discover the historic art of falconry in the heart of the Highlands, led by passionate experts. Against the backdrop of the Liathach and Beinn Damh peaks, Scottish birds of prey and falcons display their astonishing power and agility in spectacular demonstrations, soaring above the wild landscape before landing effortlessly on your glove.

Sea kayaking

From The Torridon, your exploration of the Scottish Highlands continues by sea kayak. This excursion, designed for groups of between two and six people–and adaptable to all skill levels–allows you to get up close to the coves and rugged coasts of the loch-filled landscape. As you follow the shoreline, expect to encounter seals, otters, oystercatchers, cormorants or even white-tailed eagles, Scotland's great sea birds.

Guided hikes

Departing directly from The Torridon, our guided hiking routes allow you to explore the spectacular landscapes of the West Highlands. Local trails, ideal for small groups, lead through some of the wildest scenery in the region, in complete tranquility. To the north of Glen Torridon, your route will take in the magnificent panorama of lochs and valleys, including the mountains of Beinn Alligin, Liathach and Beinn Eighe. Further south, the mountains of Coulin Forest offer a different perspective on this epic destination.

Stargazing

Thanks to the almost complete absence of light pollution, the Highlands offer some of the darkest nights in Europe. From November to March, observe the night sky in the company of astronomer Stephen Mackintosh. After enjoying dinner with him as guest of honor, you’ll head outdoors to explore the night sky first with the naked eye, then a telescope or binoculars. Depending on the phases of the moon and the weather, the experience will reveal details of the lunar landscape, constellations and the sheer vastness of the Milky Way.
