The private villa

The Manegehuis, a sunny private villa with expansive views of the woods, is the jewel in the crown of the estate. At a sunny clearing in the woods, the Manegehuis with private garden, offers two fabulous suites for 4 adults and 4 children. Here you enjoy a relaxed holiday in your own villa - with the facilities of the hotel within walking distance. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be prepared for you personally by the chef.

Woodland adventures

Explore the vast woodland-covered estate of Het Roode Koper in every season. On foot or by bicycle, you can follow its trails at your own pace. Guided hikes, in partnership with the National Trust, will lead you to its more hidden corners and offer a chance to learn more about the Veluwe nature reserve’s unique ecosystem. The surrounding area is also ideal for exploring by car–especially convertibles–while on the property itself you can enjoy tennis, golf, pétanque and swimming. Perhaps the best way to encounter the landscape is to take an early morning jog through the woods, just as the sun breaks through the mist.

Horseback riding in the Veluwe

An extensive network of trails allows you to explore the woodland landscapes of the Veluwe on horseback. Whether you bring your own horse or book a ride with a nearby riding center, you’ll discover a choice of routes that lead right through the heart of nature. Alternatively, carriage rides can also be arranged from Het Roode Koper. For couples, families or groups, these adventures offer a unique way to explore the woods at a leisurely pace.

Celebrations to cherish

The vast, 8,600-acre Het Roode estate is an ideal adventure playground for children. Budding explorers can learn to build huts in the woods and follow its many trails on foot or by bike. Cooking workshops are available, while board games, ping-pong, air hockey and arts and crafts supplies are available in the villa for the whole family to enjoy. There are plenty of options too for family outings nearby, including the De Hoge Veluwe National Park, the Kröller-Müller Museum and Het Loo Palace.

Spectacular nature

The Hoge Veluwe National Park is a Dutch national park of approximately 5500 hectares in area, consisting of heathlands, sand dunes, and woodlands. It is situated in the Veluwe; the park forms one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the Netherlands. Most of the landscape of the park and the Veluwe was created during the last Ice Age. In the park area there are also the Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller and the hunting lodge Sint Hubertus.

Cycling

Directly from the estate start cycling routes from different distances. Using a national cycle route node, you make a tour of which you determine the length and direction yourself. Through the forests and over the heath, challenging tours can be made on the MTB. For exploring The Veluwe by racing bike, there is also a tour. Regular bikes are always there at the hotel. If you wish to rent MTBs, racing bikes, tandems or other special bicycles, we advise you to report in advance with your reservation.
