Lunch in the gardens, a romantic dinner among the roses or a gourmet picnic: in warmer weather, meals can be enjoyed in the open air. With much of the produce grown on the estate, its vegetable gardens and greenhouse provide daily inspiration to the chef and his team, who also offer dessert and pizza workshops for children. For the ultimate gastronomic experience, private dinners can be arranged in the estate's villa, complete with a dedicated chef, sommelier and servers.

Dennis van den Beld offers refined, French-inspired cuisine. Using meticulously selected ingredients, the chef of Landgoed Hotel Het Roode Koper creates dishes of great precision, presented like paintings inspired by nature. A singular dining experience that prioritizes finesse over showmanship.

Summer restaurant. Heated outdoor pool, bar and restaurant. In addition to the Michelinstar Restaurant, there is The Poolhouse restaurant, the second restaurant at the estate, located near the heated outdoor pool. Our chef serves exquisite summer dishes in this restaurant. From lobster to club sandwiches, and from oysters to antipasta. We serve refreshing drinks, from healthy smoothies to exceptional champagnes.

The Sörensen family warmly welcomes guests to the estate of Het Roode Koper, a mansion once owned by the Count of Dutch-Indonesia. Surrounded by classical English gardens and the lovely woods of the Veluwe, the 3,000 hectare estate is a wonderful destination for a getaway. Explore the magnificent woods, heaths, water and wilderness by foot or by bike. On cooler days, curl up fireside with a spot of tea or a glass of wine in the lounge. The restaurant offers excellent seasonal fare, which can be enjoyed with views of the stately garden.

The Poolhouse is a splendid outdoor pool with bar and second restaurant at the estate. The spacious terrace with comfortable sun loungers gives a beautiful view of the woods. Relaxing at The Poolhouse

The Manegehuis, a sunny private villa with expansive views of the woods, is the jewel in the crown of the estate. At a sunny clearing in the woods, the Manegehuis with private garden, offers two fabulous suites for 4 adults and 4 children. Here you enjoy a relaxed holiday in your own villa - with the facilities of the hotel within walking distance. Breakfast, lunch and dinner can be prepared for you personally by the chef.

Every corner of this characterful destination offers an escape from the everyday, whether in the restaurant, lounge or by the fireplace, or outdoors on the terrace, in the rose garden or in the grounds. To celebrate special events in complete privacy, the entire estate can be reserved.

Celebrations

Explore the vast woodland-covered estate of Het Roode Koper in every season. On foot or by bicycle, you can follow its trails at your own pace. Guided hikes, in partnership with the National Trust, will lead you to its more hidden corners and offer a chance to learn more about the Veluwe nature reserve’s unique ecosystem. The surrounding area is also ideal for exploring by car–especially convertibles–while on the property itself you can enjoy tennis, golf, pétanque and swimming. Perhaps the best way to encounter the landscape is to take an early morning jog through the woods, just as the sun breaks through the mist.

Woodland adventures

An extensive network of trails allows you to explore the woodland landscapes of the Veluwe on horseback. Whether you bring your own horse or book a ride with a nearby riding center, you’ll discover a choice of routes that lead right through the heart of nature. Alternatively, carriage rides can also be arranged from Het Roode Koper. For couples, families or groups, these adventures offer a unique way to explore the woods at a leisurely pace.

Horseback riding in the Veluwe

The vast, 8,600-acre Het Roode estate is an ideal adventure playground for children. Budding explorers can learn to build huts in the woods and follow its many trails on foot or by bike. Cooking workshops are available, while board games, ping-pong, air hockey and arts and crafts supplies are available in the villa for the whole family to enjoy. There are plenty of options too for family outings nearby, including the De Hoge Veluwe National Park, the Kröller-Müller Museum and Het Loo Palace.

Celebrations to cherish

The Hoge Veluwe National Park is a Dutch national park of approximately 5500 hectares in area, consisting of heathlands, sand dunes, and woodlands. It is situated in the Veluwe; the park forms one of the largest continuous nature reserves in the Netherlands. Most of the landscape of the park and the Veluwe was created during the last Ice Age. In the park area there are also the Rijksmuseum Kröller-Müller and the hunting lodge Sint Hubertus.

Spectacular nature

Directly from the estate start cycling routes from different distances. Using a national cycle route node, you make a tour of which you determine the length and direction yourself. Through the forests and over the heath, challenging tours can be made on the MTB. For exploring The Veluwe by racing bike, there is also a tour. Regular bikes are always there at the hotel. If you wish to rent MTBs, racing bikes, tandems or other special bicycles, we advise you to report in advance with your reservation.

Cycling

Journeying across the Netherlands is an adventure in itself. For such a small country, the diversity of its natural landscapes is surprisingly wide.
