Hotel and restaurant on the seafront. This hotel is the dream child of Carlino Cinque, who was passionately in love with this place and commissioned a villa on a promontory with breathtaking views of Praiano, Positano, the coast and the rocks of Capri. In the course of time, this dream grew, as did the hotel. Its many rooms have each a private terrace and a wonderful sea view. The interior details include fine terracotta floors with ceramic decoration and doors adorned with frescoes. An elevator built into the rocks leads down to a private beach and to the Carlino restaurant. The spa and tennis court between the cliffs are also not to be missed. ... Learn moreless
This is undoubtedly the most spectacular (and most renowned) of the entire Amalfi Coast. Departure is from Praiano or Agerola, arriving in Nocelle di Positano in about 3 hours during which you enjoy splendid views along the Coast right up to Faraglioni di Capri. To fully understand the name Paths of God that was given to it, you need to cover the whole route, with cliffs alternating with high, winding limestone walls in a stunning pastoral landscape.
Amalfi is often depicted in the Grand Tour's gouache illustrations. Traces of its past as a maritime power continues to be strongly suggestive. The Arsenal of the Republic (used as a museum and exhibition space) or the impressive Cathedral with the Chiostro del Paradiso (Cloisters of Paradise) annex makes it a must-see. I suggest a stop at the Pasticceria Pansa, which is among the Historic sites in Italy where it is mandatory to sample the"Delizia al Limone" which contains the entire citrus fragrance, the Coast's pride.
Ravello, located a few kilometres off, is a small cultured town renowned for the exquisite beauty of its monuments. They include the Duomo with its museum, Villa Rufolo at the heart of the historic centre where the Ravello Festival concerts are held, and the more important Villa Cimbrone with the very famous Terrazza dell’Infinito.
Restaurant and hotel in a village. On the stunning headland where the gulf of Naples meets the gulf of Salerno, Alfonso and Ernesto Iaccarino create dishes that reflect his love for this slice of Italy dotted with lemon groves, vineyards and olive trees. Using fresh produce from his own farm, Le Peracciole, Iaccarino creates simple Mediterranean marvels, such as swordfish with chickpeas and thyme, goatfish with rosemary and cucumber, and pasta with clams and courgettes. His wife and two sons give a family touch to the ambience and the combination of exceptional produce, warm hospitality and Iaccarino’s skills make the difference. ... Learn moreless

Hotel and restaurant on the seafront. There is an eternal, timeless beauty to the Gulf of Naples, with its jagged coast and deep-blue sea, and the Vesuvius rising in the background. In the most picturesque corner of Sorrento, the Bellevue Syrene was opened in 1820, having been originally designed in 1750 as a private residence built on the foundations of a Roman villa. The location, decor, comfort and sense of history at this hotel make it an extraordinary place. The fishponds full of water lilies evoke the Roman times, while frescos painted as a tribute to famous guests adorn the walls. The recent refurbishment of the hotel has balanced respect for the glorious past with contemporary comfort. ... Learn moreless
Restaurant and hotel in a village. Located on the magical island of Ischia, in the village of Casamicciola, the Terme Manzi Hotel & Spa is an architectural gem built in the 19th century. This elegant and sophisticated palace, with its beautiful furnishings and decor, is where the mind and body become one to embrace the warm thermal waters of the Gurgitello Spring, well-known since antiquity for their regenerating, healing and therapeutic properties. They best combine with the fabulous qualities of organic volcanic clay for a revitalizing synthesis, the mud therapy. At all three restaurants, the chef chooses from the genuine ingredients that the Ischian sea and countryside have to offer, creating dishes that bring together the great Mediterranean tradition with new Italian culinary creativity, and will take you on a journey to discover the “emotional cuisine”. ... Visconti arrived in Ischia in the mid 1940s and, fascinated by the island's beauty, bought "La Colombaia", a beautiful white villa located between Lacco Ameno and Forio. It was love at first sight for the film director who restored and decorated it with great passion, giving it an interesting mark of liberty. The historic home now houses a museum and a literary café near the La Colombaia Foundation which spreads the culture of communication and entertainment as well as promoting training and specialisation in these arts. His ashes and those of his sister Uberta are preserved under a rock in the magnificent garden.
Hotel and restaurant on the seafront. The hotel, perched on a cliff over the sea in a breathtaking position in Capri, offers from everywhere one of the most beautiful views in the world. Once a summer house of a Russian Prince, it is now a boutique hotel with an exquisite décor much loved by King Farouk of Egypt who was booking his suite for the year. Here you can enjoy the stunning infinity pool overlooking the Bay of Naples, the flavours of the restaurant with one of the best views on the island, the piano on the terrace at sunset and the wonderful gardens. Feel welcome to the land of aesthetes and start discovering the blue legend of Capri! ... Learn moreless
