Prestonfield House, with its towering Georgian façade, stands regally on a 20-acre estate shaded by ancient trees, land where a few Highland cows graze peacefully, yet all just minutes from downtown Edinburgh. This authentic Scottish manor is an urban oasis, a 17th-century residence that has had only three owner families in the more than three centuries it has stood on this site. Ran Baas The Palace in Patiala, Punjab, is an authentic Maharaja palace, a property that once was home to the prince’s wives. The imposing black-wood structure, reminiscent of a traditional North American barn, has quickly become one of the most sought-after destinations on Canada’s culinary scene. Its success stems from the vision of chefs Eric Robertson and Daniel Hadida, who strive to make the most of the produce grown on the surrounding 42-acre estate. The property includes a farm, vegetable garden, orchard, bakery and wine cellar. Here, they use biodynamically grown grapes cultivated on their own land and from vineyards of the wider Niagara Peninsula to craft their own wines. The menu at Pearl Morissette reflects a similar approach, sourcing as much as possible locally, primarily from small-scale sustainable agriculture, showcasing the chefs’ skill, creativity and dedication to their ingredients. In its rustic-chic dining room, bathed in natural light, every dish reveals the richness of the terroir.

Susana Balbo, Argentina’s first female winemaker, has been crafting wines for more than a quarter century in her bodega in Agrelo, a renowned wine-growing region just 25 minutes from Chacras de Coria. Here is in this small village just outside Mendoza, with her daughter Ana, she established Susana Balbo Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites. At this lovely historic residence, its walls graced with works by local artists, the verdant grounds are home to seven suites decorated with textiles in neutral hues, each with its own private garden. Each one is a relaxing, intimate paradise with a large bathtub, sensory shower, sauna, and massage table. Experiences at Susana Balbo Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites focus  primarily on the world of wine (tastings, introduction to wine production, etc.). Within the City Palace, residence of the Jaipur royal family, The Sarvato restaurant enjoys a matchless location on a vast terrace with breathtaking views of the Pink City.
