The scenery of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, is so picturesque it looks like a painting, with its wooded hills, endless forests and silver-hued lakes. Here and there, small Baroque churches or neo-Gothic castles can be glimpsed on the hillsides. From the Black Forest to Lake Constance, this Route du Bonheur leads through vineyards to reach ancient Roman baths. A bucolic adventure to the heart of German culture.

Baden-Baden Spa House
Baden Baden was the summer capital of the country in the nineteenth century. The whole aristocracy used to meet here to enjoy the casino, thermal baths and horse racing. Built in 1824 by Friedrich Weinbrenner, the Spa House is still the architectural symbol of the spa town. The roulette wheel continues to turn under its beautiful columns, much to the delight of gaming enthusiasts. Didn't Marlène Dietrich say that the Spa House was 'the world's most beautiful casino'?
