13th-century châteauoverlooking the Lot ValleyMalbec wine estatemindful sourcing

A former summer residence of the Count-Bishops of Cahors, and a true haven of peace in Occitanie, Château de Mercuès has presided over the Lot Valley since the 13th century. Its majestic keep and turrets, built on a rocky outcrop, now house guest rooms that offer breathtaking views of the estate's vineyards. No two the same, each space highlights the building's unique character, with stone walls and exposed beams featuring in one direction, and antique tapestries or parquet floors in another. The cuisine, too, celebrates the property’s rich heritage. It tells the story of Occitan terroir through a gourmet, seasonal menu, made with locally sourced, sustainable ingredients. Dishes are designed to pair with the renowned, velvety Malbecs of Château de Mercuès, so emblematic of the Cahors appellation. Walks in the surrounding countryside, wine tastings–and conversations with the winemakers themselves–will transport you to the heart of Malbec art de vivre.
