Overlooking the vast Norwegian Sea in the unspoiled Træna archipelago, Ytri Island Retreat offers a new way to reconnect with yourself and the elements. This autumn, the property launches The Art of Being Alive, a series of four- and six-day Arctic yoga retreats designed as a meaningful escape from the frenzied pace of everyday life.
Up here, wellness is inseparable from your surroundings: movement, contemplation and nature flow together throughout each day. Yoga sessions, island hikes, Arctic water swims, wood-fired sauna sessions and bespoke rituals combining breathwork, meditation, heat and cold come together in an experience guided by the natural rhythms of island life.
Afterwards, a massage and a soak in an outdoor hot tub overlooking the horizon deepen the sense of release. Taking place in October and November 2026, these new retreats offer an increasingly rare form of indulgence: the freedom to truly take your time, surrounded by the spectacular silence of the Far North.
