Park Hotel Kenmare launches Landscape, its new spa

This summer, Park Hotel Kenmare launched Landscape, its new spa and wellness space. Conceived as an authentic immersion in Irish nature, the sanctuary’s identity and wellness rituals are drawn from the landscapes, materials and elements of County Kerry.

“Kerry is not simply the backdrop to Landscape; it is an integral part of the experience. From the moment guests arrive, we wanted to create a strong connection with the water, stone, woodlands and mountains that surround us,” explains the Park Hotel Kenmare team.

This philosophy is beautifully illustrated with the outdoor stone mineral pool, crafted from Irish limestone and nestled among the trees on the property. At its center rests an imposing stone from Dromgarriff, one of Ireland’s last remaining temperate rainforests. Guests are then invited to move between water, heat and cold–from the mineral pool to the sauna, steam room and cold plunge.

The nature of Kerry is also carefully integrated in treatments, both through products by Seabody, an Irish brand that uses bioactive marine ingredients and seaweed harvested along Ireland’s Atlantic coast, as well as the use of local botanical oils, like mountain pine and spruce needle, in treatments like the Landscape Vitality Ritual.

“Everything has been designed so that entering the spa never feels like leaving Kerry behind; instead, guests simply discover it in a different way.”

Alongside these elemental experiences is a contemporary approach to wellness and recovery, including lymphatic compression, red and near-infrared light therapy, and Intermittent Hypoxia-Hyperoxia Therapy (IHHT). Combining nature, essential rituals and modern technology, Landscape aims to establish itself as Ireland’s foremost wellness destination.

“What makes Landscape unique is its deep connection to place. This is not a spa that could simply be transplanted elsewhere. The Irish stone, ingredients from the Atlantic, our woodlands and the nearby Dromgarriff forest are all intimately woven into the experience. Landscape belongs deeply to Kerry.”

This ambitious project has been developed by Jo Nagasaka, the internationally renowned architect and founder of Tokyo-based studio Schemata, in close collaboration with owners Bryan and Tara Meehan. The approach creates a dialogue between contemporary design and the surrounding nature, and sets a new benchmark for Irish hospitality. The new space also features six exclusive suites that feel similarly connected to the surroundings, through elegant and serene interiors.

Beyond its architecture and treatments, Landscape is above all an invitation to embrace a slower rhythm: to immerse oneself in warm water surrounded by trees, to feel the cold against the skin, to enjoy a treatment, read, talk or simply do nothing at all. “Above all, we hope guests will remember how they felt: lighter, calmer and more grounded in the present.”

With this latest update, Park Hotel Kenmare reaffirms a vision for hospitality that’s intimately connected to its sense of place, with every guest invited to reconnect fully with the wild beauty of Kerry.
