The Dome Hotel & Spa is a unique UNESCO architectural monument which dates back to the 17th century and which benefited from renovations carried out by Latvian craftsmen, architects and artists in 2009.
The architects were entrusted with maintaining the character of its original construction and using the expertise of local Latvian craftspeople. Every detail was enhanced: the hardwood floors, the inlaid woodwork, the main stairway and the decorative painted murals from 1850 were all fully refurbished. The rooms were modernized but have kept their original unique look and atmosphere. The hotel courtyard with a plant-covered wall was designed like a garden. Outside, guests are greeted by the arcades of the old carriage doors and two bronze lions.
