A mountain retreat

Renowned as the ‘home of the gods,’ the Utsukushigahara plateau also provides an astonishing natural setting for Tobira Onsen Myojinkan, at an altitude of 3,500 feet. Up here, you’ll encounter neither roads nor towns, only the trees and mountains of Yatsugatake Park. From the terrace, you can enjoy the lapping of the river and other sounds of nature, which you can explore from trails that lead directly from the ryokan.
