A Day with Giants

Guided by our Cape Weligama naturalist, you will spend a few hours observing wild elephants that Uda Walawe National Park is famous for. The park is also excellent for birdlife, especially raptors and migrant species that escape the European winter. Then, we visit the Elephant Transit home where wild, orphaned elephant calves are cared for and rehabilitated until they are released into the wild.

Galle: a multicultural city

Led by a local guide, explore the fortified city of Galle, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century and a designated UNESCO World Heritage site. Its cobblestone streets lead through a blend of multicultural influences. Admire stunning historic architecture in its town center, visit the Dutch Reformed Church, and explore the Old Dutch Hospital before heading to the lighthouse and Flag Rock bastion. The tour concludes at sunset on the ramparts of the fortress.
