On the edge of a forest of pine trees overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, the Hôtel du Castellet is one of the region’s most charming properties. Guest rooms are painted in hues of honey, lavender and grape and there are plenty of sun-drenched terraces. For absolute relaxation there is the pool, golf course and spa. When night falls, the gazebos are illuminated, to highlight the beauty of the grounds.

Celestial adventures

Located at an altitude of 1,410 feet/430 meters, overlooking the village, the hotel enjoys astonishing views and a remarkably clear sky. Its grounds are therefore an ideal place to contemplate the stars. Explore the celestial reaches in the company of an astronomy expert, in collaboration with the nearby observatory in Ollioules. In July and August, you can join a fascinating astral walk, in search of the phenomena that make the night sky such a magical spectacle.

Le Castellet: a small feudal village with plenty of Provençal charm

A small feudal village perched on high, Le Castellet has the burnished charm of Provence's most typical hilltop towns. With ramparts, narrow streets and bougainvillea, the streets here are filled with the fragrance of olive oil at lunchtime. Known all over the world for its famous Paul Ricard racing circuit, Le Castellet was also the set for Marcel Pagnol's movie The Baker's Wife. From the esplanade of its 15th-century castle, admire the breathtaking views of the surrounding area, including the region's emblematic Sainte-Baume mountains.

A secret location full of magic

The Gazebos are ideal for large and small events alike. When the sun is almost too hot, this is where guests retire to lounge on the oversize cushions with a good book. Whether it's to take tea after lunch or to enjoy a sundown drink, you'll want to stay as long as possible so that the magic never stops. I love the moments that happen in this special place: a candlelit marriage proposal or a simple souvenir photo.
