The story of this old mansion dates back to 1377, when its first landowners came to farm the land above the Idrijca River. Sitting amid the alpine peaks and Karst Plateau, Kendov Dvorec is now an elegantly furnished hotel with touches of traditional Slovenian style in its antique interiors of carved wood and decorative lace handmade in Idrija. From the property's lovely landscaped gardens, guests will enjoy picturesque views over Spodnja Idrija. This medieval village is home to the famous pilgrimage church of St Mary on the Rock and crystalline rivers, great for fly fishing marble trout. Nearby, there is also the mercury mine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
