Awaken the senses

The best word to describe here is "paradise". Situated alongside Ntiakitiak River where Fig trees amongst other trees towers high, Mara Plains is indeed paradise on earth. Early at dawn a myriad of bird's calls fill the air, the most vocal being the colourful white-browed robin chats, weaver birds and the raucous turaco. As guests get into the open solid land cruiser at the car parking area the golden orb sun rays beams across the sky silhouetting our resident lions as they walk in tow downhill to the nearby bushes where they shall shield themselves from glaring sun later in the day. From a distance a zebra brays perhaps to celebrate the new dawn and the fact that it survived the previous night. The entire Conservancy is teaming with wildlife of all kinds, from the tiny ants to the mighty elephants. Different habitats at Olare-Motorogi Conservancy harbour different species of animals as every animal has a unique adaption to its niche. Driving across and alongside each one of them you not only find all the animals but also see the real beauty and breath taking views of Maasai Mara.

Senses of Safari

Nestled along the banks of the Ntiakitiak River under the canopy of Greenheart trees, resplendent with a vivacity of bird life; Mara Plains plays host to the breath-taking quintessential African view with its loan acacia tree; standing like a stoic sentry watching out over the theatre that unfolds around it.Enjoy sumptuous foods and finest wines whilst watching the Zebras lazily graze on the lawn mere metres away, whilst the chorus of bird song and tenor of hippos complete the milieu. With flickering firelight guiding you, dine under the majesty of the Milky-Way and be serenaded by the nocturnal chorus of predator and prey. Restful slumber is ensured within spacious mahogany tented frames, marquis draped ceiling and the resplendent furnishings of a bygone era.

Vibrant Maasai

From their beautiful enchanting singing to their brightly coloured clothing fully embellished with beads and jingling silver, the Maasai people not only shine on the outside but also within. You are welcomed warmly with bright smiles and greetings into their villages and homes, being exposed to the reality of how they live and operate on a daily basis. The experience of their culture is raw and powerful and will leave you in awe of how their customs and traditions have remained unchanged over the years, despite the rapid technological advancements that have gripped the rest of the world.

Itinerary - Legendary Kenyan safaris

Here more than anywhere else, time is marked by the advancing sun. Forwards through lush vegetation, at the pace of the animals. Lions, zebras, giraffes and elephants paint beautiful, surreal pictures. Distant Mount Kilimanjaro towers over the scenery which the Maasai people describe with passion. See the itinerary
