Relais &amp; Châteaux and Pommery award the 2026 Woman of the Year Trophy to Jennifer Hugé, co-founder and Service &amp; Beverage Director of FYN Restaurant, for her exemplary mentoring. For seven years now, Jennifer has been elevating FYN to the ultimate heights of Cape Town’s culinary establishment. Known as ’Mother of Service’ in South Africa, she trains the city’s greatest managers and sommeliers. With her extensive knowledge of local vineyards and her mastery of mixology, she compiles lists of exclusive wines, cocktails and mocktails that combine French finesse with South African hospitality.

On the top floor of a 19th-century silk factory in Cape Town’s historic city center, FYN Restaurant flies high above the African gourmet dining scene. Having received several prestigious international distinctions, it masterfully reconciles African exuberance and Japanese refinement. Chef Peter Tempelhoff, in partnership with Chef Ashley Moss and Service & Beverage Director Jennifer Hugé, concocts kaiseki-style menus, showcasing in-season, sustainably grown ingredients from the local terroir. This strong culinary identity is also expressed in the pescetarian, vegetarian, and vegan menus. The wine list is your chance to discover old South African vintages, a rare experience for this region. The warm and modern décor by Tristan du Plessis and the mountain view complete the experience. FYN Restaurant’s open kitchen encourages interaction between chefs and diners, while the friendly service guides guests through this exotically flavorful epicurean adventure.
