This safari camp is located on a private island deep in the Okavango Delta, a UNESCO heritage site renowned for its tremendous biodiversity. It is an exceptional location for discovering the fauna and flora of this “river that never reaches the ocean” in a flat-bottomed boat or a traditional fisherman’s canoe. Sitatunga Private Island is an exclusive retreat encircled by narrow, crystal-clear waterways winding toward the vast Okavango swamps in the south. At Sitatunga Private Island, the 2 canvas-constructed suites, each with a private veranda and pool, are raised off the ground and have been designed to hang in gigantic bamboo-and-wood-inspired “fishing baskets,” a nod to the local fishermen. The interior décor is a collection of natural woods, rugs, and ethnic furniture, creating a refined ambiance of calm and relaxation.
