Nature on the Tuamotu Archipelago is so wild it feels like the world was just born. Le Tikehau is the only hotel on the atoll of the same name, stretching beside a beach of pink sand edging an endless lagoon. On Motu Tianoa, a private coral islet 15 minutes by boat from the atoll’s village, this property has a handful of bungalows that seem to float upon the crystal-clear waters, as well as a few villas perched by the lagoon’s sandy rim. Accommodations at Le Tikehau, crafted with local materials and roofed with nī’au (coconut palms), combine comfort, elegance, and simplicity.
