Hidden behind the main church, a beautiful 16th century palace blends into the whitewashed walls of the town. It is La Sommità (lit. The Summit), perched high above the historic centre of Ostuni. Behind the Catalan-style portal, a veritable oasis is unveiled. The harmony of white and cream tones, natural stone, and minimalist decor invite you to disconnect and recharge. Take the time to read under the shade of an alcove or at the edge of the little pool, get lost staring across the roofs of the city and the groves of olive trees stretching to the Adriatic, before savouring a refined and reinvented Puglian cuisine.

In a dreamlike landscape, walk through the trulli of Alberobello, limestone dwellings, remarkable examples of drywall construction with conical-shaped roofs, a technique which dates back to the prehistoric era and still in use today .The narrow lanes of the historic center of Alberobello are lined with more than 1,500 trulli, most of them in perfect condition. Reach Matera, famous for its very peculiar settlements carved into the tuff rock, the Sassi and the park of the Rupestrian churches. A walk through the historic center will transport you back into the past. This is the most outstanding, intact example of a troglodyte settlement in the mediterranean region. Both are protected and were named a Unesco World Site.
