Through our cooking class, you will have the opportunity to be with a Tabakha which means a traditional chef, but a Tabakha is much more than just a simple cooker. The Tabakha, for whom Moroccan cuisine has no secrets, has managed to transmit these few decades of culinary history and traditions in a few hours thanks to her dedication and passion, to which she has devoted her life. During this classes you will not only have the opportunity to choose and make a typical Moroccan dish, the symbol of the culinary richness of Morocco, but also to be able to choose the food directly at the traditional market, and of course, you will taste your masterpiece.

My cuisine represents an encounter between cultures, flavors and local produce. This simple cuisine takes inspiration from the gastronomy of Catalonia, my region of origin. Over time, the my travels and the greatest chefs I had the chance to rub shoulders with enriched it. I am constantly searching for a balance between complexity and simplicity to share the essence of flavors that are dear to me.

The hotel Le Doge welcomes you to its rooftop Le Doge Café. Located on the fifth floor, you will have a front row seat for admiring the soothing view of an Art Deco Casablanca. In addition, you can taste dishes with Mediterranean flavors concocted by chef Gina Iscla Planavila-originally from Catalonia-or sip one of the fabulous signature cocktails!

In the heart of the Art Deco district of Casablanca, Le Doge is a gem of a hotel, where authenticity and sophistication are key. Legend has it that it was an Italian entrepreneur who gifted this little gem to his wife, who he met in Morocco. The building’s 30s architecture is carried through in the interior décor and the conservation of central period elements. Le Jasmine restaurant’s traditional Moroccan cuisine will delight all the senses. Much like the Petit Spa that offers treatments and rituals in the purest oriental tradition: steam baths with eucalyptus, argan oil massages and hammam all contribute to the relaxing well-being experience on offer in the heart of the ‘White City’.

Hôtel Le Doge

The Hammam is a traditional Moroccan ritual, a true moment of purification, for the body as well as for the spirit, which has been practiced since the dawn of time by our ancestors. First, you will be plunged into a hot steam bath with eucalyptus extracts, jasmine, and many other scents, to gently prepare your skin for exfoliation. The exfoliation will deeply cleanse the skin using our natural and traditional products such as black soap or Ghassoul (orange blossom clay). You can extend your escape in our spa with a wide choice of treatments and massages always using natural products based on Argan. The escape continues in our relaxation room with a soft atmosphere accompanied by an infusion or a freshly squeezed fruit juice.

Your wellness journey at the Doge Spa begins with a hammam ritual, an immersion in a hot steam filled with eucalyptus and jasmine extracts, which prepares the skin for a deep exfoliation with black soap and Ghassoul. The experience continues with a variety of argan-based treatments and massages, and ends with a special moment in the relaxation room, accompanied by an infusion or freshly squeezed fruit juice.

The diversity of Casablanca's heritage will not leave you indifferent with its multitude of iconic buildings that were built under the influence of several famous architects such as Elie Azagury or Jean François Zevaco. From the individual houses of the Moroccan bourgeoisie, buildings housing the public administrations, to schools and offices, each of these masterpiece will let you admire the post-war Casablanca heritage. Still in the heart of Casablanca's historic district, just a few meters from the hotel Le DOGE, the Abderrahman Slaoui Museum opens its doors to let you discover its universe around its art collections or unique pieces from the collection of Abderrahman Slaoui himself. During the calligraphy workshops that we propose in partnership with the foundation, you will have the opportunity to try your hand at a visual art form, which will introduce you to one of the Moroccan scripts (Mabsout, Tuluth or Moujawhar), with a Qualam (writing instrument) and Chinese ink. An unusual experience where you will perceive Moroccan art from another point of view.

Visit and calligraphy workshop at the Abderrahman Slaoui Foundation

The central market is a historical market of Casablanca with colonial architecture that was built by Pierre Bousquet whose achievements were a complete success, he was the architect of the Pasteur Institute, the Casablanca Stock Exchange and the emblematic Lyautey High School. Apart from its mythical architecture, the market is famous for its fish and shellfish, especially sea urchins, sea knives and oysters coming straight from Oualidia city, as well as its local products from all Morocco such as argan oil, honey and typical Moroccan spices. One of the particularities of this market is that you can buy your fish among the stalls and have it prepared in the restaurants located within the market as you want them, a guaranteed culinary experience that will delight your taste buds!
