Thank you for your patience...
This privately owned medieval tower, sitting on its own island barely large enough to take it, was built around 1460 and, as with most castles, has witnessed much turmoil over the centuries. Set on Loch Linnhe, it makes for a dramatic approach to Airds and a great photo opportunity. Privately owned by a local family and restored as a holiday home you can enjoy a visit to this fascinating piece of history. We can arrange a 1⅟₂ hour guided tour from the current owner who will regail you of some of the more colorful moments in its history and this will include a small 5 minute boat crossing.
Enjoy this 1⅟₂ hour RIB boat trip on Loch Linnhe. You will be picked up at the jetty in Port Appin (8 minute walk from the hotel) and given a tour round the local section of Loch Linnhe. Whilst the boat is powerful it is also very smooth giving you time to enjoy the scenery and the excellent and knowledgeable commentary from your captain (and owner of the boat). There is an excellent chance of seeing some wildlife including seals, porpoises, otters and possibly even sea eagles. Return is back to the Port Appin jetty. The tour is for a maximum of 8 guests (operational times are limited so ask for availability).
