During your stay, experience ranch life in an elegant and picturesque setting. Indeed, traditional cattle breeding, just as the founders of the ranch practiced it in 1933, was reestablished on the 320 -hectare/800-acre estate.
Nearly a century later, Cataloochee Ranch has lost none of its splendor or authentic charm. Scattered around the main building, wooden and stone chalets typical of the region are filled with considered, warm décor featuring local craftsmanship. All have balconies or decks offering spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and gardens of unspoiled natural beauty. At Switchback, the ranch's restaurant, guests enjoy typical Appalachian cuisine with an alpine influence–dishes are made with seasonal ingredients, sourced locally, and mainly cooked on an open flame. A joyful disorientation of the taste buds as well.
