Far away from the hustle and bustle of the world, you can enjoy at La Torre del Visco the glorious scenery of a valley untouched by man and the modern world. The estate house with its tower dating from 1449 is surrounded by its own eighty-nine hectare farm, romantic gardens full of roses and olive trees bordered by the river Tastavins and the mountain range known as “Ports de Beseit”. The owner grows her own organic fruit and vegetables and makes her own olive oil for the restaurant. Inside the beautiful labyrinthine buildings, immerse yourself in a novel by the fireside, play chess or piano. During the night you can observe the stars on the terrace.

Expression of the terroir

The chef at El Visco lets the farm’s organic harvests decide the menus. She then masterfully combines vegetables, fruits, and herbs gathered on the property with the day’s catch and handcrafted culinary creations from local partners. The chef’s Mediterranean cuisine changes daily to reflect the many flavorful facets of the Matarraña comarca.

The Olive Oil experience

The hotel and restaurant La Torre del Visco is surrounded by its own certified organic farm of 220 acres with over 1.900 olive trees. Dating from Roman times, olive production is still the most important agricultural activity of this area and our own trees produce the oil we use in our restaurant throughout the year. The heart of our fruity and mellow signature oil comes from our Empeltre trees, the local Aragonese variety, whilst 400 Arbequina trees, a smaller more vigorous variety, help pollinate and add a wonderful extra depth of flavour to the final oil. We also prepare some of harvest for table olives.
