Sattelei hiking cabin

The Sattelei is our hotel's own hiking cabin for refreshment breaks while on the go. Popular amongst visiting hikers and locals alike, the Sattelei is a cozy place to take a break for a bite to eat with some draught pilsner or a glass of wine and to enjoy the wonderful views while surrounded by the finest Black Forest scenery in a very tranquil location.

Forellenhof Buhlbach with our own fish farm

The Forellenhof in Buhlbach is separated from the Hotel Bareiss by around a 75-minute walk and nestled within an idyllic nature reserve on the edge of the national park. 'Enjoy and be' goes the mantra here in two pretty lounges and on the spacious sun terrace offering a delightful view in the open air. A peek at the menu is well advised, as it offers tasty trout specialties, classic dishes, and a hearty range of snacks.

Follow in the footsteps of royalty at Hohenzollern Castle

Perched on a rocky outcrop, Hohenzollern Castle dominates the Black Forest with its majestic silhouette. This neo-Gothic jewel, cradle of one of Germany's oldest dynasties, fascinates as much for its architecture as for its history. Tour its state rooms, admire the royal family's treasures and enjoy breathtaking views of the Baden-Württemberg landscape.
