*** The Café de l’Espérance remains open during the hotel's closure. *** From the heart of the village of Bouliac, Le Saint-James offers spectacular views of Bordeaux and the Garonne Valley. Its distinctive design, by renowned architect Jean Nouvel, is inspired by traditional tobacco-drying barns, while its cuisine celebrates Aquitaine’s terroir, combining beauty and flavor for stays dedicated to the pleasures of the senses. Understatedly elegant guest rooms look out on to a pool that, in turn, opens onto the vineyard landscape, connecting the estate’s winemaking present to its past. A few hundred organically farmed Merlot vines produce an annual vintage served exclusively on-site. Respect for the terroir also guides the chef, whose refined cuisine reflects close ties with local producers and artisans. With 1,700 labels, the wine list focuses on wines from Bordeaux, offering a chance to get to know the region’s typical flavors, with the property ideally situated on the ‘Route des Châteaux.’
