Osteria del Borro is a refined gastronomic restaurant with a warm country-style atmosphere. At the heart of his culinary philosophy, Chef Andrea Campani uses a large tailor-made traditional oven with which he prepares generous grilled dishes cooked over a wood fire. Getting back to its roots, in direct contact with the flame, this cuisine is ethical and transparent, based solely on the dexterity of the chef and his knowledge of the ingredients.

Il Borro offers its guests accommodation ranging from well-appointed, charming suites to the luxurious and imposing main villa: Dimora Il Borro. For some twenty-five years, it has been lovingly restored by Ferruccio Ferragamo and his family, whose aim is to preserve the medieval character while offering thoroughly modern facilities.
The Il Borro’s approach to sustainability is thoroughly modern too. The estate now generates its own electricity, from a field of photovoltaic solar panels. These can produce about 2 MWh a year—enough to power over 500 households. This is over three times the main hotel’s needs and the estate returns renewably-generated energy back into the grid. Four of the estate’s villas have been converted to low-energy properties, where a combination of insulation, solar panels, and heat pumps (which generate green geothermal energy), have drastically cut both consumption and emissions.Water consumption is carefully managed too: the estate’s lakes are used as reservoirs to store rainfall over the year, which is used for both farming and irrigation.
