Susana Balbo, Argentina’s first female winemaker, has been crafting wines for more than a quarter century in her bodega in Agrelo, a renowned wine-growing region just 25 minutes from Chacras de Coria. Here is in this small village just outside Mendoza, with her daughter Ana, she established Susana Balbo Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites. At this lovely historic residence, its walls graced with works by local artists, the verdant grounds are home to seven suites decorated with textiles in neutral hues, each with its own private garden. Each one is a relaxing, intimate paradise with a large bathtub, sensory shower, sauna, and massage table. Experiences at Susana Balbo Winemaker’s House & Spa Suites focus  primarily on the world of wine (tastings, introduction to wine production, etc.). Naturally, food and wine pairings are a consummate service feature at the exclusive La Vida restaurant, which brings a unique perspective to traditional local cuisine.

Sit back on the terrace of your room and admire the panoramic view: beneath your eyes, Porto, a Unesco World Heritage site, and the sinuous curves of the Douro river. The Yeatman, located in the heart of Vila Nova de Gaia–the historical headquarters of the Port wine houses–owes its name to a family of British traders who are still active: this legacy is told through the décor of the rooms and a great collection of Portuguese wines. The chef showcases contemporary gastronomy, with food and wine pairing an important part of the dining experience. Twin Farms is a unique country estate in Vermont, situated on over 120 hectares of wildflower meadows, hardwood forests, ancient gardens and private ponds. The original 1790s farmhouse and lodge have been converted into gracious living and dining rooms and six elegant suites. Ten guest cottages, each with its own interior design style, are dotted about the property, and The Farmhouse at Copper Hill provides four additional suites, ideal for small gatherings. Since opening in 1993, Twin Farms has upheld a tradition of graceful hospitality and quiet beauty. Guests enjoy the use of a handsome pub, the fitness and wellness centers, a lakeside cabana and a Japanese-style furo.

In the southeast of Sri Lanka lies the Wild Coast Tented Lodge — a haven of twenty eight cocoon-like tents placed at the edge of the jungle and beach. Together they form the shape of a leopard's paw, a symbol of the Yala National Park whose wonders you can discover alongside the camp’s naturalist guides on a safari adventure. At the outposts, the suites overlook the Indian Ocean. Each arched structure, stretched in canvas and bearing stylish colonial expedition decor, is dotted with a private watering hole. Entwined in bamboo, the main building resembles a rock along the shore. It houses the bar, library and restaurant where a modern take on traditional Sri Lankan cuisine is served.
