The Swiss architect Le Corbusier profoundly influenced the urban landscape around the world. He started on the shores of Lake Geneva, designing a small house for his parents in 1923. Located in Corseaux, Villa Le Lac is today considered one of the first examples of the modern architecture movement. Covered with an astonishing aluminum sheet, the property–which covers just 64 square meters–is conceived in a functional, minimalistic way. With its signature 11-meter-long window, it offers endless views of the lake and the Alps.

Depending on the season, discover one or another of these festivals. The Montreux festival, which takes place in summer, is a must and will allow you to enjoy the waterfront and its unique atmosphere. The Cully festival, which takes place in the spring, is cosier and you can discover many concerts in unusual places within this charming old town.

A small rack-rail train takes you from Montreux to over 2,000m in altitude, above the cliffs and forests. There you'll find La Rambertia, an alpine botanical garden which includes 1,000 species of alpine plants. And if you look hard, you'll spot the marmots popping their heads out of their burrows. All this, just 55 minutes from the lake…

Meet at the Amont Leiterli resort. From there, a circuit through the most beautiful meadows in Betelberg urges you to slow down to enjoy nature. At the height of summer, you can admire nearly 70 varieties of flower, including: dryads, Calypso bulbosa orchids, alpine roses, gentian and edelweiss.
