Surrounded by purple heather-covered mountains, Kenmare is one of the spots in Ireland that the Irish themselves like best. Sheen Falls Lodge is not only perfectly placed for exploring the southwest, the Ring of Beara, Ring of Kerry and the famous Killarney Lakes, but it is also known for its piano-jazz ambience, its collection of old Irish whiskeys, and the dishes prepared with the salmon caught in the nearby river. There are unrivalled views of Kenmare Bay, the McGuillicuddy Reeks and cascading Sheen waterfalls. All of this, combined with outstanding Irish hospitality and Celtic legends, creates a sense of magic that pervades.

At the heart of Sheen Falls Lodge, Easanna Spa invites you to experience an approach to well-being that’s rooted in Irish nature. Guests can enjoy the magnificent views : the changing landscapes of the bay as the tide turns, the dramatic McGillicuddy Reeks in the background or the cascading Sheen waterfalls.

The View

With 15 miles of outstanding fishing on the estate alone, you can almost feel the twitch of the line from your bedroom window. With plentiful lakes nearby too, salmon, trout and fly fishing are all possible here. Our experienced resident fishing instructor, or Ghillie as its traditionally known, is on hand for that all important local knowledge. Guiding, equipment and licenses can also be arranged. Not many hotels can boast their very own smoke house, but Sheen Falls Lodge can. Fish or no fish in hand, you'll be able to enjoy our very own freshly caught wild Atlantic salmon, cooked or smoked to perfection and served in our restaurants.

Set off to explore the stone circle in Kenmare, the ancient remains of human occupation dating back to the Neolithic period. Fifteen stones are arranged with precision around an imposing boulder dolmen and capstone in the center, which is nearly 7 feet in height and weighs close to seven tons. This visit promises to be an unforgettable journey through time, during which you'll be utterly amazed by the largest stone circle in Ireland.

Set off on a unique itinerary that takes you along Kenmare Bay on a mythical route that is one of the most beautiful in Ireland. With its small fishing villages, sheer cliffs, lakes, mountains and contrasting views of the sea and sky, the Ring of Kerry reveals a pallet of expressive colors, from the soft green of the meadows to the navy blue of the sea. You'll wind through pasturelands where peaceful sheep live in harmony with this superb Irish countryside.
