Stari Grad, A Walk Through Heritage

Undoubtedly one of the oldest towns in Europe has a lot of stories to tell through its people, heritage and legacy. Old Dalmatian stonewalled houses form Mediterranean narrow streets, which are beautifully preserved and look almost surreal as if you travelled back in time. The authenticity that gives the character to any time in history is the people, and that is certainly the case with the people of Stari Grad. The heritage tour tells the story of Stari Grad from the beginning to the present day. From when the ancient Greeks left their drywall signature in the Stari Grad Plain 24 centuries ago, to now, when hard-working families continue to preserve its traditions.

Stari Grad Plain - Natural Reserve of Ancient History

Stari Grad Plain, a UNESCO-protected World Heritage Site, is the best-preserved ancient geometrical system of land division in the Mediterranean used by the ancient Greeks. The landscape, featuring Greek and Roman stone walls, renaissance chapels, trims and small shelters, olive groves and vineyards, has been virtually intact for over 24 centuries. Immerse yourself in history and nature and enjoy a wine and olive oil tasting at a local tavern, paired with local dishes harvested straight from the plain.

The Paths of Lavander

Known not only as the sunniest island in the Adriatic, Hvar Island is also known for its lavender. Did you know that fifty years ago, 8%  of the world's total lavender production came from Hvar Island? Learn about the lavender origins, customs and history by visiting the most aromatic village on the island, Velo Grablje, while enjoying the panoramic views of Hvar and its surroundings. Choose your essential oil and end the experience with a wellness retreat - aromatherapy provided by our Spa. A true rejuvenation experience.
