Scone Palace - Rich in Scottish History

There can be few places of interest in Scotland as historically potent as Scone Palace. When you visit the Palace you are walking in the footsteps of Scotland’s ancient founding fathers, both pagan and Christian. It was an important religious gathering place of the Picts, it was the site of an early Christian church and it housed the Stone of Destiny, which was used for the crowning of Scottish Kings until it was captured by Edward I in 1296 and taken to Westminster Abbey. It was then used for the coronation of English sovereigns including Queen Elizabeth II. It has now been returned to Scotland.
Scone Palace houses some of the finest collections in Britain including porcelain, ivories and furniture.
