The Clos des Sens permaculture garden is home to over 200 varieties of plants cultivated all year round to help shape the gourmet restaurant’s menu. Every day, the kitchen team harvests fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers to use as ingredients in its exquisite dishes. After meals, guests are invited to wander the paths of this idyllic third-of-an-acre plot, where you’ll find information boards about this horticultural approach, plus seating areas and even a hammock.

Our permaculture garden

Chef Franck Derouet pursues a unique, lake-inspired and plant-based approach to gastronomy. Freshwater fish, wild plants and garden herbs blend harmoniously in bold cuisine that’s deeply rooted in this terroir. The elegance of Clos des Sens, combining nature and contemporary architecture, creates a profound setting for the experience.

Restaurant Clos des Sens

During warmer months, Le Cortil invites guests to dine directly in the heart of the Clos des Sens gardens. Celebrating produce from the kitchen garden with a nature-forward culinary style, its dishes are centered around plant-based ingredients prepared with open-flame cooking. Each year, a different chef-in-residence offers their personal interpretation of this gourmet dialogue from garden to plate.

Overlooking Lake Annecy and facing the Bauge Mountains, Le Clos des Sens is a discrete historic manor built in 1866. Between contemporary preciosity, a rustic touch and true authenticity, the table setting continually dialogues with the works of art.
The lounge-fireplace design, the beautiful terrace with old chestnut trees, as well as the swimming pond that borders a remarkable garden of herbs, lend themselves to dreaming. As for the spacious rooms, they distinguish themselves by their strong character.

Lake Annecy is a magnet for all types of visitors. Watersports fans can lose themselves in its silvery waves; at night its skies are filled with fireworks. The city itself is celebrated as much for its pyrotechnics as for its renowned animated film festival. From La Clusaz to Megève, from Aravis to the Mont-Blanc massif, the region combines nature with the spirit of celebration. Winters offer a chance to speed down its slopes on snowboards, to explore telemark skiing and even try skijoring (skiing pulled by ropes attached to dogs or horses). Dance on its slopes as DJs play, with a glass of mulled wine or two.

This mountain region has lots to offer in summer as well as in winter. There are almost as many fans of hiking and mountain biking as there are skiers on the slopes. Board sports country (lots to try on Lake Annecy), and gastronomy country with cheeses and fine patisserie one as excellent as the another...
