Vast and unspoiled, the private Selinda Reserve links the Okavango Delta to the Linyanti and Savute river systems, embodying Africa’s true spirit and, more specifically, that of Botswana itself. Located within this remote wilderness are Great Plains Conservation’s Selinda Camp and Zarafa Camp. Designed in an ecologically friendly manner, Zarafa Camp consists of large, sumptuously appointed tented suites, recreating the atmosphere of the very first safaris in their traditional style. Selinda Camp brilliantly synthesises the meeting of cultures thanks to its luxurious suites. In this exciting region, you will be able to appreciate the countless wonders of Botswana’s wildlife; it’s a veritable breeding ground for rare animals where nature has so much to offer. You’ll have the great privilege of observing the famous lions featured in Birth of a Pride, the film directed by Derek and Beverley Joubert for National Geographic, as well as endangered African wild dogs, hippos bathing in the lagoons, and large herds of elephants grazing peacefully in the surrounding area. It is a magical show enriched by the most beautiful sunsets in the world.

Victoria Falls, wild Botswana and Cape Town

Water is the theme to this journey, from Victoria Falls and the Zambezi River, to Botswana's Selinda Reserve and Okavango Delta, through to where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Indian Ocean in at the southern tip of Africa at Cape Town. You can expect hippeaux in all locations, other than Cape Town; which is hip and has plenty of water, but where you are more likely to see whales.

Selinda Reserve

In the private Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana, Zarafa Camp sits beneath the trees on the edge of the Zibadianja Lagoon. Such is the beauty of Botswana - many vast tracts of remote land still exist, land untouched by human hands. Land where silence prevails along with the deep roar of lions and the cry of the African Fish Eagle. The Selinda Reserve lies in the Selinda Spillway, which weaves its way east, linking the far reaches of the Okavango Delta in the south with the Linyanti and Chobe water systems in the east.
