Having worked in a range of different properties across the country, I have been lucky enough to gain the experience and knowledge needed to create my own style of cooking, and to learn to prepare the excellent produce of the region. My recommendations: grilled octopus, mille-feuille of cod with squash, and of course all the meat and fish dishes that we offer.
Our secret? Slow cooking or steaming, and traditional cooking on the grill. A unique experience and unusual flavours.

Castillo de Arteaga takes part in a Basque program called Lehen Aukera that teaches job skills to young people under 30.
The Lehen Aukera program, financed by the Basque employment agency (Lanbide) and the European Union, works to find jobs for young adults aged 16-30 who are unemployed and not enrolled in schooling or a vocational training program. Eligibility for the subsidies is dependent on being hired with an apprenticeship or permanent employment contract in jobs related to their field of study. By recruiting young people as apprentices through this government program, Castillo de Arteaga is improving their employability and their chances of finding steady work.
