This hotel is the dream child of Carlino Cinque, who was passionately in love with this place and commissioned a villa on a promontory with breathtaking views of Praiano, Positano, the coast and the rocks of Capri. In the course of time, this dream grew, as did the hotel. Its many rooms have each a private terrace and a wonderful sea view. The interior details include fine terracotta floors with ceramic decoration and doors adorned with frescoes. An elevator built into the rocks leads down to a private beach and to the Carlino restaurant. The spa and tennis court between the cliffs are also not to be missed.

The San Pietro’s private beach

The hotel offers direct access to a private beach within a heavenly cove boasting crystal clear water and views of Positano. Carved out of the cliff, the lift will whisk you from the entrance hall to this little corner of paradise in seconds. In this idyllic setting, the solarium, restaurant and waterside bar serve as ideal venues from which to drink in the beauty of the Amalfi coast in peace. In the distance, you'll see the faraglioni, four iconic rocky stacks rising proudly from the sea off the island of Capri.

Villa Rufolo in Ravello

Natural treasures abound on the Amalfi coast, some beautiful parks and gardens among them. Nestled on a cliff, the town of Ravello is home to the most stunning examples in the region. The gardens at Villa Rufolo, a residence that belonged to the Rufolos - a rich family of princes and merchants - are extraordinary. The villa opens onto gardens laid out in terraces with a breathtaking view of the sea below. This same landscape inspired Richard Wagner, who composed Parsifal while staying in Ravello. Every summer, the gardens of Villa Rufolo play host to a festival in honor of the German composer.

Private yacht excursions

As our chief source of inspiration, we are pleased to be able to share our passion for the sea with you. At your disposal is a yacht, enabling you to venture along the Amalfi coast, or take in the Bay of Naples. Set sail on our Maxi Dolphin 50 "The Dreamer" to truly appreciate the natural beauty of the coast at your leisure. Gazing at the rugged cliffs and colorful villages from the sea at sunset is an experience like no other. Every morning in summer, except on Sundays, you'll have the option of spending a couple of hours out at sea with our Il San Pietro boat. Cool off in the water and admire the stunning view of the coast before returning to the San Pietro for a signature cocktail.

Vietri ceramics

The hillside village of Vietri on the Amalfi coast is world-famous for its hand painted majolica. Since the 17th century, craftspeople have taken inspiration from the colors of the landscape in creating motifs and glazes for the ceramics used to decorate both the walls of houses and the facades of monuments. Savoir-faire has been passed on from generation to generation, and Vietri remains an important production center for artistic and traditional ceramics in Italy. These beautiful ceramic pieces can be seen on tables in restaurants around the region. We can recommend the best places to go if you wish to take some home, or watch the craftsmen at work.

Cycling the Amalfi coast

Winding its way between terraced vineyards, pastel colored villages and wonderfully fragrant lemon trees, the coastal road is one of the most beautiful routes for cycling enthusiasts in Italy. You'll have plenty of opportunity to admire the magnificent sea view over the course of the itinerary we've created for you. Owing to its beauty and technicality, writer and endurance cyclist Juliana Buhring is particularly fond of the region. We offer you the unique opportunity to meet her and to benefit from her insight before you set off to explore it for yourself.

Wines from the coast

"If you want to discover wines produced on the Amalfi coast, come to an estate dating back to the 18th century, where the production uses rare local grape varieties, and has a Protected Designation of Origin."

The path of the gods

"This is, without a doubt, the best-known and most beautiful excursion available on the Amalfi coast, as it allows you to look at the magnificent landscape for the entire duration. The route is relatively simple: it sets off from Agerola and leads to Positano in 3 hours, offering a breathtaking panorama throughout. It's a particularly captivating landscape as it brings together the solemnity of the Lattari mountains and the charm of the sea."
