“A jewel nestled under the coconut fronds, with ocean as far as the eye can see”
Maître de Maison - Arul Ambikaibalan
The guest rooms open onto private gardens with vistas of palm trees swaying in the breeze against an ocean backdrop. Cape Weligama’s residences and villas sit atop a promontory overlooking the Indian Ocean and enjoy stunning views of idyllic landscapes on all sides. At the seafront, the crescent-shaped infinity pool seems to float above the waves; alongside stone pathways leading to secluded coves where turtles flap about in the crystal-clear shallows. The terracotta-tiled rooftops of the accommodations, designed by renowned architect Lek Bunnag, create the illusion of a traditional Sri Lankan village with generously sized, stylishly furnished interiors.
Cape Weligama

Unique in the world: The crescent-shaped infinity pool seems to float above the waves.

Our commitments

This property was not born in isolation: the project from which it came also bore two sister foundations; responsible for helping children and local communities live and develop with dignity.

“Business is a matter of human service”, repeats the founder of this property. And annually he puts his words into action with his two foundations: the MJF Charitable Foundation, specialised in social justice, and Dilmah Conservation for environmental protection. Helping women and children from poor areas, setting up early years centres, rebuilding programs after the tsunami, and also founding elephant orphanages and the Dugong protection plan (a marine mammal facing extinction). Protecting the natural and human heritage of the island are the real reasons why this property exists.

IMAGINE IF EVERYTHING WAS EXACTLY HOW YOU LIKE IT: ALWAYS BE EXPECTED
