Once Upon a Table is a culinary theatre showcasing some of the biggest names in fine dining from around the world. Once Upon a Table’s horseshoe-shaped table seats just eight diners for an intimate dining experience. Throughout the year many of the world’s top chefs will hold court here. There is no menu, allowing the creativity and skills of the chef to take centre stage. Throughout 2018 – 2019, more than 35 of the world’s top chefs will cook for Soneva Fushi’s guests.
An ode to expertly prepared fresh seafood, So Hands On is a sushi counter with just five seats. At certain times of the year it will welcome the renowned sushi master, Chef Kenji Gyoten, the youngest three-Michelin starred chef in Japan, and one of only four three-Michelin starred sushi chefs in the world. Chef Akira Koba, another highly skilled and experienced Japanese chef, will be running the table year-round.
Translating to ‘here it is’, this is the culinary heart of the island, featuring an endless spread of fresh fruits, live cooking stations, freshly caught and grilled-to-order fish and a collection of Asian dishes and Maldivian specialties. The wood-fired oven offers freshly baked pizzas. Guests can design their own pizza by choosing from the choice of toppings. Don’t miss the gourmet salad room, or complimentary ice-cream and chocolate parlours! Mihiree Mitha is also the area for breakfast, where an extensive hot and cold buffet selection, juice counter and fresh fruit stations are available.
