Story of a Maître de Maison

Can you tell us the story of your property?

Palazzo Seneca was built in the 16th century by the homonymous family from Piedivalle, a town near Preci, whose inhabitants were famous as skilled wood carvers. Palazzo Seneca was the first hotel in Norcia and among the first in Umbria as it opened in the early 1900s. The residence has undergone several changes over time but it still maintains intact, on the ground floor, the features of the vaulted rooms typical of the 16th century. When present to our architect a book with what we loved and didn’t love to have inside our property. 3 highlights: We don’t want to be trendy for one year but elegant forever. We have to find a new Umbrian tradition. At home in an Umbrian Palace.

What is your trademark in terms of the art of generosity and warmth?

Vincenzo and Federico Bianconi, are the 5th generation in the hospitality business in Norcia and Italy since 1850. We love to give our personal touch with our welcome.

What memories do you want to give your customers?

At home in an Umbrian palace – this is the atmosphere you will find in this charming 16th-centuty residence once more opening its doors in Norcia, in the heart of Umbria. A fusion of design and tradition, simplicity and quality. We love the guests feel in a friendly and homely atmosphere from the beginning in a relaxing property.

What passions do you share with your guests at your property?

Ours is a story of love for our job and for our city that renews itself from generation to generation. Thanks to our staff that supports us and to the trust that many guests have placed in us, we look to the future with optimism and ambition, eager to test ourselves in new challenges.

We await you to make your stay a memorable one. We love to talk with the guests and understand their interests and offer our knowledge in terms of gastronomy, cellars, local ingredients, secret to discover, nature and outdoor sport.
