Where are the charming princes
and their princesses ?

Without a doubt it's an abbey, but it's also a house that radiates from inside and out. Pink-kissed stone soaks in the faintest of sun beams; the grounds warm up as the rays arrive and greet the first ripples of spring.

The room itself is the stuff of legend. Location and decor collude to transport us back to childhood places where gallant princes faced off to win the princess's heart. It says it all!

Without a doubt it's an abbey, but it's also a house that radiates from inside and out. Pink-kissed stone soaks in the faintest of sun beams; the grounds warm up as the rays arrive and greet the first ripples of spring.

Entering the grounds, my eye caught this gorgeously renovated structure. No doubt about it, it is a former abbey. But the garden layout and architectural refurbishment made it look like a grand stately home where people lived the good life.
The interior lived up to that reputation, the designation was no laughing matter. The centuries-old stained glass windows cast a vivid homey feeling on the grand hall. A real treat for the eyes!
The views of the garden were just as wonderful as my first impression led me to believe. The grounds are generously dotted with pools of water. A sunny spot and a good book – my afternoon plans were set.
Two ponies leisurely meandered through the grounds. Magic was afoot at every turn, for young and old alike.

The food? It was incredible! Fine dining at night and fine bistroing during the day. It was a feast for the eyes and the taste buds thanks to the talents of the property's brand new chef Guillaume Royer, winner of the Meilleur Ouvrier de France award in 2015.
What more could you ask for than a chess game to top off this quintessential country getaway?
