Horseback Riding in the Snow, Rocky Mountains, Colorado
Horseback riding through the Bitterroot National Forest, with Hannah as our guide. The only sounds as we trotted through the snow were those of the horses and the rustling trees.

If a bartender is not present, the staff encourages you to get behind the bar and make yourself at home. Matty went straight for the whiskey, and then the snacks.
The rooftop lounge and bar was the perfect place to warm up and relax, with light flooding through the windows, and hot buttered rums readily available.
We stayed in Sugarloaf cabin, and it was so warm and beautiful. Open floor plan with a wood-burning fireplace, a kitchen, a giant shower, and a private hot tub in the woods.
We went downhill skiing at Lost Trail Powder Mountain, and everything from rentals to transportation to lunch was all taken care of. It was a true winter wonderland.
The aforementioned hot tub. Pure, snowy bliss!
We spent each night playing Scrabble, while enjoying cocktails by the fire. The Fall in Moscow was my personal favorite drink.
Traditional log and timber architecture on the ranch, with icicles as natural decor.
The restaurant was a cozy haven in the lodge, with the most incredible food. Breakfast was amazing in every way: we had a table filled with warm croissants, huckleberry jam, bacon cheddar pancakes and perfectly fried hash browns.
One afternoon, we went snow tubing and skijoring. The latter is a Norwegian sport, where you are pulled on skis behind a horse. It was probably one of the most fun experiences I have ever had.
During our stay, the staff photographed our activities, and they left a few printed photos in our room as a surprise. Such a special touch!

Trying my hand at archery, another popular activity on the ranch.

Taking in all the beauty that is Montana.
