A one of a kind experience
in the very heart of the Adirondacks

The roadtrip in North American east coast begins at The Point, a unique property which has been cultivating an unparallelled symbiosis with nature for more than 75 years. Nestled in the Adirondacks, bordering the Saranac Lake, this is the unequivocal winner in the œluxury meets wilderness category.

The main pavilion of the property is home to its glorious reception hall which is original from the Rockefeller era. Decorated with exceptional taxidermy, you are bound to experience in this hall a refined culinary adventure, masterfully prepared by the Chef. What’s more, the ambiance here is communal, which means all the guests gather to eat around the same table. A unforgettable experience.

The Adirondacks proposes to its visitors a spectacular setting to escape the sometimes overbearing urbanism of big cities and indulge into what raw nature has best to offer.

Beyond this majestic wooden gate is hidden the Great Camp at The Point. Located in the very heart of the Adirondacks and bordering the Saranac Lake, The Point is the very definition of symbiosis between nature in its purest form and hospitality in its finest one.

This luxurious camp is emboldened by a flourishing nature that surrounds it and adapts itself with great humility and respect. True to the century-old tradition of Great Camps that inhabit the region of the Saranac Lake, The Point has a totally authentic architecture in keep with the tradition, like this refuge hitherto meant for great adventurers.

They sleep in the warmth of the Boathouse during winter but are on duty most of the remaining months of the year: a few boats are available for guests so they can express their maritime nature. The team at The Point will prepare a tasty lunch for your day afloat and make sure you have everything you may need.

Most of the rooms are located in the central pavilion. The suites are dispersed throughout the property and have their own houses. Ours is on the second floor of a building hitherto used as the garage for the Ford Model A of the Rockefeller. Spacious and segmented in two with an antechamber and the main room, our apartment is the ideal environment to indulge in a page turner in front of the warm glow of a fire.

Our suite is decorated with accents of green, brown and red which give it a warmth characteristic of these cottages that seldom dare to offer a shelter from the unforgiving surroundings at the expense of comfort and luxury. Indeed, comfort here is an art that is mastered beautifully and contributes to a memorable and rejuvenating retreat. Treats and surprises await our return from dinner which make The Point an infinite source of surprises.

Particulary charming and inviting, the bathroom is the best of both worlds of modernity and rusticity and is perfectly suited to the modern luxury cottage. A logical continuation of the other rooms in the suite, the bathroom has a copper-like bath as well as a vast shower which can easily and comfortably accommodate two souls. The ample selection of amenities is entirely from Kiehl’s, a very nice addition as these are indeed high quality products.

What better way to recycle an old garage than to turn it into a self-service bar?! Pool, darts, board games and the unmistakable jukebox: come indulge into a world of play-based pleasures. The bar itself has everything you could probably think of in terms of alcohol as well as a very useful cocktail book which guides rookies in the making of their own cocktails. Although the goal of it all is to immerse you in the world of the ultrarich like the Rockefeller and make you feel as though you own the place, there is always someone available to prepare cocktails or take some snacks orders. Our own Moscow Mule was a definite success and so were the truffles fries that accompanied them. A marvellous experience in the very middle of a pine forest.
