Discovery Tour with Mukayu Team

To discover Yamashiro Onsen, the Sacred land”
We offer the Yamashiro walking tour, which will take you to explore the history of the oldest hot spring in town. Our guest could also visit the Yakuoin Onsen Ji temple, Hattori Jinja shrine, and Kitaoji Rosanjin`s pottery artist house. This tour will help our guest to understand our inspiration of Yakushiyama (signature spa) concept.

Trija Siripipat - Director of communication

Original Spa treatment

Our Spa’s signature treatment is named “Yakushiyama Treatment”. “Yakushiyama” means “Mount of the healing Buddha”. The name is derived from the history of hundreds of years ago. They used to be a great Buddhist temple where Mukayu is located now. In those days, priests healed people using hot spring water and medicinal herbs.
Inspired by that long and rich history of healing hot springs, we conceived our unique Yakushiyama treatment, using hot spring water and various medicinal herbs and plants, as a tribute to those times.
