Here, in 1560, in an effort to fully express their faith - since at the time only Catholics were recognized as 'legitimate' - Protestants plotted to abduct king Francis II: the event became known as the Amboise Conspiracy. Château de Noizay was the place where this historic event unfolded. The 16th-century building still harbours historic traces such as the majestic stained-glass windows which impart a wholly mystical atmosphere.
Noizay is surrounded by a French-style garden, 26 hectares of grasslands and five hectares of woodlands. Its centuries-old trees, with such evocative names as giant sequoia and ginkgo biloba, invite you to embrace a spirit of contemplation. Relax on the terrace or in the meadow. Listen and breathe... The surrounding natural environment will soothe your mind.
