Anton truly understands the essence of creating a gastronomic delight for discerning travellers in secluded beach settings. His most recent experience before North Island was gained at &Beyond Mnemba Island in Zanzibar, following other exceptional properties, including The Twelve Apostles Hotel and Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat in the Cape, as well as Silversea luxury cruise liners.

Barefoot luxury, fresh fish, island-grown herbs and vegetables (and sometimes challenging logistics!) have shaped Anton to be creative and versatile in remote environments. With a positive and friendly attitude, he is just as comfortable interacting with guests as he is in his kitchen, where he is known for his unique, personable way of leading his brigade.

Passionate about food, every day at North Island is an opportunity for Anton to create, explore and push the culinary boundaries in order to spoil and surprise guests.
