Forming an air-bridge between South Africa and Botswana to save a herd of 100 rhinos under threat from poachers: Selinda Reserve is actively involved in the unbelievable Rhinos Without Borders project.
4 million euros: the budget needed for this modern day Noah’s ark in order to give this endangered species a haven in Botswana. Several rhinos have already been transferred to Botswana, and anti-poaching teams watch over them and other animals. When this transfer is over, it will be the turn of the other African wildlife species, equally threatened. The property is also involved in education: five full time staff teach 2000 children how to take care of their health and environment. This includes raising awareness of aids, the basics of nutrition and waste recycling methods. All building materials and furnishings were sourced from local, sustainable farms as much as possible
