Maître de Maison - Adine Roode
In the heart of the private Kapama reserve, this camp is named after the first baby elephant adopted by the owners, followed by other orphaned elephants from Zimbabwe. This lodge is a sanctuary for animals and a marvellous refuge for travellers in search of an authentic experience. The deluxe suites and the presidential Zindoga Villa open onto their own private outdoor pool overlooking the dry riverbed. Explore the bush on foot or by vehicle to spot the Big Five – lions, leopards, rhinos, buffaloes and elephants. Experience unforgettably unique moments, enhanced by attentive service and sophisticated cuisine.

The story of the incredible rescue of a herd of elephants brings about the opening of an exceptional property.

Camp Jalubani was born of the need to give a herd of rescued elephants a future, against the backdrop of the Drakensberg Mountains. Protecting species and traditions is at the heart of the Camp's DNA. This unusual property has practised its vision for endangered species, in partnership with the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre. People are as important as animals, and Camp Jabulani supports the development of the local community through growing fruit, vegetables and herbs. Its architecture draws on local materials and ancestral methods, and the food marvellously combines free range game and fruit from local indigenous plants.
